The parliamentary committee for the SRI control, which heard the SRI director Eduard Hellvig for seven hours on Wednesday including on the service’s reports on Florian Coldea-Sebastian Ghita case, revealed that the SRI’s internal investigation confirmed that the former first-deputy director Florian Coldea had been on vacation with Sebastian Ghita in Seychelles Islands and in Tuscany, Italy, but established that Coldea and his wife, also intelligence general, had paid for their expenses, a fact which they confirmed by invoices and receipts. The committee leader, Adrian Tutuianu said that the committee members could not establish if the invoices were real, but they seemed real.

He also stated that the SRI head Eduard Hellvig had ordered drafting a deontological code of the service, which will be public, that should clarify the conduct of an intelligence officer in relation with third parties.

At the same time, Tutuianu said that the presence of Coldea’s wife together with Ghita’s wife at Disneyland, Paris had been also confirmed.

He also added that the former SRI director George Maior, currently ambassador to the U.S., had been in Tuscany with Coldea and Ghita, but not in Seychelles.

As for the DNA chief prosecutor’s presence at various SRI events, Tutuianu said that the services’ internal investigations had established that Laura Codrut Kovesi had attended SRI’ s public activities, or related to the institutional collaboration between SRI and DNA.
