Returning from a private visit in USA on Sunday night, Romania’s President-elect Klaus Iohannis posted a new message on his Facebook page, inviting Romanians to look for images and testimonials of the 1989 Revolution in their personal archives.

“We celebrate a quarter of century since the Romanian people earned its right to freedom. So, I am urging you to remember together the winter of 1989 and the heroes of the Romanian people. By searching in our personal records photos of those days and using #25deanidelibertate hashtag, let’s put together these photos and testimonials which will show what the fall of the communism and the democracy’s birth meant!” reads Iohannis’ message.

President-elect also reminds he will attend Timisoara ceremonies marking 25 years since the Romanian Revolution.

“Let’s remember Timisoara heroes, let’s cherish their memory and let’s keep on watching over the health of our society,” Iohannis also says.
