Justice Minister: Discussions at ECHR on January 16 on jail conditions

The leadership of the Ministry of Justice will have a meeting with the President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on the roadmap for fulfilling the requirements of the pilot decision on penitentiary conditions on January 16, Justice Minister Tudorel Toader has announced on Tuesday.

The meeting will take place at the ECHR offices on January 16, at 14.00h, the justice minister wrote on his Facebook page.

“A team of experts from the judiciary – foreign affairs – interior ministry – finance – probation and the National Penitentiary Administration will then meet with the staff of the ECHR Registry. The meeting will take place at the ECHR offices and will focus on the implementation of the measures adopted. The memorandum will be submitted to the Government for approval. On January 22, 2018, the Memorandum will be sent to the ECHR,” Minister Toader said.
