Before taking some days off, Justice Minister Tudorel Toader has withdrawn the extradition claim to the name of former PSD deputy Sebastian Ghita. The information comes after a court in Ploiesti had written off the arrest warrant against Ghita.

As the court has cancelled the warrant arrest, the legal basis for the extradition claim is also gone“, Justice minister argued.

Early this month, the Ploiesti Court of Appeal has admitted the appeal filed by the former deputy and ordered the repeal of the in absentia preventive arrest in the file on the IT services. The ruling is final.

This was the last file where preventive arrest was asked against Sebastian Ghita.

At present, Ghita is in Serbia.
