“During the specialist control, the service dog Kaya reacted by active marking signaling the presence of drugs inside a semi-trailer, located in a central position in the parking space. On October 10, 2023, the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Central Structure ordered the detention of two men, Turkish citizens, for committing the crime of high-risk drug trafficking.
Durinh September and October 2023, the men (located in a commune in Argeș county where they lived without legal forms) would have stored and possessed, with a view to selling, 231,997 ecstasy tablets (MDMA, a high-risk drug).
Following the search carried out in the case, 46 bags, approximately 2.2 kilograms each, containing a total of 231,997 ecstasy tablets were discovered and lifted from a trailer parked in the premises of a private parking lot in Argeș county.

Specialized support was provided by the Special Operations Directorate of the Romanian Police.
Everything took place in the case of a criminal group’s long-term operation that would have introduced into Romania, through the Port of Constanța, 186 kilograms of heroin, concealed in 16 tons of dates imported from Iran, in May 2022. The case was instrumented with the help of the authorities of Hungary, the country of destination for the goods in question.
