Six Syrian immigrants have been confined at Calafat border crossing point. They were hidden in a minibus that was attempting to illegally enter Romania.

The refugees were tracked down following a routine inspection in the back of the minibus where a fake wall had been set up. The Syrians are aged 17 to 31 and had no ID papers.

Both them and the Bulgarian driver of the minibus have been handed to the border police in Bulgaria.

130 persons trying to illegally cross the border have been tracked down by the border Police in Calafat since the beginning of the year. Most of them were Syrians, but also Afghans, Iraqis and Iranians.
