DNA to start prosecution on former Interior Minister
The National Anticorruption Direction (DNA) asks for the President’s approval to start the prosecution of former Interior Minister Cristian David (photo), for bribery and money laundering.
David is suspected that he would have received EUR 500.000 from a person to get the title of property for 15 hectares of land in Buzau. David said he was not involved in the issuance of any document regarding the right of property.
“I had no involvement in the issuance of any document related to setting the right to property; therefore, there is no prerequisite for anyone to claim anything. I am surprised by the moment chosen by an informer who has <<remembered>> just now about alleged facts from 2007,” said Cristian David.
In another file, DNA announced, on March 5, that Cristian David, at the time serving as Minister Delegate for the Romanians Abroad, is prosecuted for abuse of office in the form of improper participation, forgery and false statements that would have been made in order to justify EUR 60.000.
