Former PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea, currently imprisoned for corruption, has filed a criminal complaint, accusing he was not allowed to vote in the presidential election.

Imprisoned at Rahova Penitentiary, where he is serving a 3 year-and-a-half prison sentence for instigation to abuse of office, the former SocDem leader has filed a complaint to the District 6 Prosecutor’s Office, denouncing he had been banned from exercising his right to vote both in the first round and in the second round of presidential ballot.

Dragnea’s lawyer said that the members of the polling station that brought a mobile box in the penitentiary had told Dragnea he cannot cast his vote, as he appears in the electronic system of the Electoral Authority as having the interdiction to vote.

In retort, Dragnea claimed that the court had actually banned him only from running in elections, and not from voting. So, he argued that he had been illegally prevented from casting his vote.
