Ex-mayor of Bacau Romeo Stavarache might get out of jail

Romeo Stavarache, former mayor of Bacau, might get out of jail, after the magistrates of the Vaslui Court had approved his release on parole. However, the ruling is not final.

Romeo Stavarache was sentenced to four years in prison for bribe taking in November 2017. He was imprisoned at Vaslui Penitentiary.

A month ago, the former mayor asked for release on parole.

Romeo Stavarache was remanded for 24 hours on June 26, 2014, under preventive arrest from July 1, 2014 to September 3, 2014, under home arrest from September 4, 2014 to February 3, 105 and from March 3, 2016 to April 1, 2016 and under judicial control since April 2, 2016 hitherto.
