Hospital manager caught red-handed right uptown Bucharest
The manager of Ploiesti County Hospital was caught red-handed in Romana Square in Bucharest on Wednesday while receiving a RON 30,000 bribe to discount some works performed at his hospital by a private company. Alexandru Baloi was taken at the National Anti-corruption Directorate for hearings.
Judicial sources unveiled that the hospital manager met the person who was supposed to give him the money right in the street in Romana Square. Investigators caught him in the act.
The sum of RON 30,000 represents only a part of the money the doctor should receive to discount the works.
Doctor Alexandru Baloi has been the manager of Ploiesti County Hospital since March 2014. He had previously run the Prahova General Direction of Social Assistance and Child Protection and he was also manager of the Public Health Direction.
