IICCMER calls for the prosecution of three torturers of the communist regime
The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of Romanian Exile (IICCMER) called on the prosecutor’s office for the criminal prosecution Refic Fizulic Neculai Tilici and Theodore Sarbu, the three being accused of crimes and abuses during the communist period, Mediafax informs.
The IICCMER representatives announced on Wednesday that they have asked the Bucharest prosecutors for the start of criminal prosecution in the case of Refic Fizulic, former political officer of a prison in Fagaras, allegedly responsible for the death of at least 22 political prisoners and of Neculai Tilici, former commander of the prison, which is accused of applying a detention method which led to the death of at least nine political prisoners.
IICCMER also called the Military Prosecutor in Cluj for the start of criminal prosecution for Teodor Sarbu, former NCO with the Securitate, who is accused of having participated in several arrests of people, being involved in several missions that led to the execution by shooting of the arrested.
