Ioana Valmar, the fourth wife of former PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu, was heard on Monday by DNA Brasov in Truica-Andronic file, as witness.
The prosecutors have asked her questions related to the transactions mentioned by her notary office, as prosecutors suspect that Ioana Valmar would have initialled certain real estate agreements signed by the defendants in the file opened as a result of illegal land restitution in the case of Baneasa Farm, Digi24 informs.
Ioana Valmar is one of the people with whom Prince Paul, culprit in this file, is not allowed to contact during investigations.
Prosecutors say that after the Baneasa Farm came into the possession of Prince Paul, he parcelled it and sold the land, so that an investigation would lose track of those who planned the whole business. Investigators say many transactions seem suspicious. Specifically, at the time of the transaction, those involved would have had to pay notary fees of EUR 6.5 million, but they waited until the level of fees fell, down by 20 times, Romania TV informs.
Marius Marcovici, former adviser to Calin Popescu Tariceanu during the period when the latter had been premier, is culprit in this file, being placed under judicial control for 60 days.
