Man taken in custody by Bucharest police, fined for threatening to shoot Coach Anghel Iordanescu
A man called the emergency service 112 and stated he intends to shoot the national football team Coach Anghel Iordanescu (photo), the General Directorate of Bucharest Police informs.
According to a press release on Monday morning, around 9.40h, a man called 112 and said he plans to shoot General Anghel Iordanescu and another general of the Ministry of National Defence.
The General Directorate of Bucharest Policemen acted promptly and soon the man was identified, discovered and taken in for hearings.
The man was fined RON 500 (approx. EUR 110), according to the Bucharest Police.
Romania’s national football team was defeated by Albania 1-0 Sunday evening at the Stade de Lyon in Group A of EURO 2016 and exits the competition after finishing on the last place in the group.
