The government’s emergency ordinance suspending until September 1, 2016 the regulation regarding the curtailing of sentences for inmates by 30 days for any scientific work published was published on Tuesday by the Official Gazette.
Thus, one of the most affected is Mihai Stoica (MM), former Steaua Bucharest football club president, which was to be released in the shortest time. Following news that he could not get released in this period, MM is depressed and resorted to a desperate gesture, according SpyNews. He is on hunger strike, reason for concern for the penitentiary employees.
The former Steaua manager was sentenced to three years and six months in prison on March 4, 2014 in the ‘transfers file’ and has written four books, and would have benefited from a reduction of the sentence of four months. The government ordinance changed his situation.
Thus Stoica might come out of jail in June or July, after the end of the football championship.
