Searches at IT companies in a file concerning damages of EUR 35m

Police have conducted on Wednesday morning 24 searches in Bucharest and Ilfov County, targeting two networks specializing in tax evasion in the field of GPS monitoring, involving companies in IT, the damage being about EUR 35 million, ziare.com informs.

According to a Romanian Police press release, the Economic Crime Investigation Department of the Romanian Police, with the support of the Police Inspectorate of Ilfov County, have conducted 24 searches in Bucharest and Ilfov County, to dismantle two criminal networks specializing in tax evasion in the field of GPS monitoring and IT, 80 policemen participating to the action.

According to the source, the criminal circuits include two large companies operating in the area that allegedly have avoided paying taxes to the state budget by showing fictitious business operations with six other companies in Romania and three foreign companies.
