The Tate brothers, released from prison, placed under house arrest

The famous Tate brothers were released the past weekend. The final ruling was taken by the Bucharest Court of Appeal, which admitted their appeals to the 30-day preventive detention carried out in the Capital Police Central Arrest, a measure instituted on March 22. They have spent the last 3 months in custody on human trafficking charges.

Tristan Tate declared upon leaving the Central Prison of the Capital Police, that “the judges made the right decision (…) and their decision will be justified, because I am an innocent man and I can’t wait to prove it.” “I just want to say that the judges made the right decision today, I respect what they did for me and their decision will be justified because I’m an innocent man and I can’t wait to prove it,” said Tristan Tate.

Tristan Tate also said, in Romanian: “We’re going home.” Andrew Tate said: “While I was in prison, I concentrated on doing push-ups and reading the Koran.”

The lawyer for the two brothers, Constantin Ion Gliga, said: “We have continuously waited and prayed for this decision, it seems to us a legal, thorough and fair decision. For the time being, they are prohibited from contacting the other parties in the case, with the witnesses in the case, and not to leave the residence without the approval of the judicial bodies. We don’t have the reasoning behind the decision, which is why we don’t know if there are other bans.”

“Now the criminal investigation enters a new stage in which we must respond to the created situation. Let us also come with our evidence. Let’s hope we get the administration of that evidence,” the lawyer added.

The two brothers accused of forming an organized criminal group, human trafficking and rape were cheered by fans when they left the Capital Police Central Prison. The Tates will be placed under house arrest for 30 days, a measure also enforced against their accomplices, Naghel Georgiana Manuela, Andrew’s girlfriend, and Radu Alexandra Luana, a former policewoman.

The investigators claim that the Tate brothers recruited young women under the pretext of starting a love relationship, after which they took them to a house in Ilfov County, where they were forced to produce video clips, which were posted on websites for adults. The two brothers misled young women that they wanted a marriage/cohabitation relationship and that they had real feelings of love for them (“loverboy” method).

The women were allegedly later transported and housed in a building in Ilfov county, where, through acts of physical violence and mental coercion (intimidation, constant surveillance, control and invoking alleged debts), they were sexually exploited by the group members by forcing to pornographic manifestations with a view to the production and dissemination, through social media platforms, of material having such a character and by submitting to the execution of a work, in a forced manner, to obtain important financial benefits consisting in the sums of money obtained as a result of accessing materials by users.

The victims told the investigators that a video chat studio was set up in the villa in Ilfov County, and they were met by armed guards upon arrival. At the same time, they would have been forced to get tattoos with the message “owned by Tate”. During the investigation, DIICOT prosecutors seized several assets owned by the Tate brothers in Romania, namely real estate and luxury cars.

The release of the Tate brothers has increased their online visibility to record highs – millions of people follow them on various networks. The photos and videos taken as soon as they arrived home made the rounds of the international media and broke all records of views.

Stuck in their villa near Bucharest, but grateful to have escaped the cell, influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate are spending their house arrest online.

Tristan Tate posted a photo on the Internet showing that he had a haircut and trimmed his beard. The post has garnered 3 million views.

His older brother Andrew, although he was the first to share pictures of his return home, preferred to keep in touch with fans through messages recalling his time in custody. Each one is seen by several million people, but the clip with him walking around like a lion in a cage, like a real bad boy, already has more than 40 million views.

Beyond the intense online activity, the two know that the release from pretrial detention was only a stage victory.
