A 23-year-old Libyan is suspect of committing a double murder in Bucharest; the man would have killed his 24yo girlfriend and a neighbor in the bloc where the woman was living. Prosecutors have opened a file for first-degree murder against the man.

The Libyan, whose name is allegedly Ahmed Othman, is apparently the son of a diplomat at Libya’s Embassy to Romania.

According to sources, the man was stoned and had an argument with his Romanian girlfriend who was living in a block of flats in District 3, Bucharest. Sources revealed that the woman had been stabbed many times with a 20cm knife that the aggressor took from the woman’s kitchen. The Libyan also killed the woman’s cat.

He left the apartment immediately after, taking the knife with him. On the ground floor he ran into a 64-year-old man who was living with his mother in the same block of flats.

The murder would have asked the old man a cigarette or money, and as the latter refused, the Libyan stabbed him to death, too.

The case has alerted all tenants and the suspect has been immediately caught and turned down to the police.
