Using the M-LIDS system manufactured by several US Defense contractors including Raytheon, SRC, and Northrop Grumman, the soldiers were able to identify, track, and destroy the threats with a combination of electronic warfare and large-caliber machine guns. After the live fire, the Soldiers briefed U.S. and Romanian officers on the equipment specifications and each of its capabilities.

Officers from the Romanian Air Forces and Land Forces observed the live fire exercise, familiarizing themselves with the equipment. The exercise represents a continued milestone not only in the U.S.-Romanian strategic relationship, but also in Romania’s deterrence posture in the volatile Black Sea region.
