A man in Arad County (western Romania) has been taken to the hospital after being bitten by a viper that jumped out from under the hood of the car.
The 52-year-old man had been previously with his family on a several-day trip to Bihor County.
When he returned to Neudorf, he tried to repair something in the car. At that moment, he was attacked by a snake, which had found shelter under the hood, stiri.tvr.ro reports.
The man was urgently taken to the Arad County Hospital, where he was given anti-venomous serum, and is now hospitalized in a stable condition at the intensive care unit.
Locals say they have never seen vipers in the area. The serpent may have been brought from Bihor, where the victim paid a visit for a few days with the family.
So far the viper has not been captured and may still be under the hood.
