Man working at Sinaia chairlift dies after falling from 2 meters

An employee of the chairlift company in Sinaia died on Friday after falling from one pillar of the chairlift.

The man fell from a 2-metre height while working on one of the chairlift’s pillar at Cota 2000 in Sinaia mountain resort on Prahova Valley. The city manger of Sinaia, Marian Panait confirmed the man was employee of the chairlift company.

The accident occurred while the man was working on a live wire to repair the chairlift.

He fell down from 2m high and suffered a serious traumatism. When the rescue teams arrived on the scene, the man was in cardiac arrest, according to the spokesperson of Prahova Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Raluca Avasiloae.

According to her, the 56-year-old man has been resuscitated for several tens minutes on the spot but didn’t respond to CPR procedures.

SMURD was also called to intervene, but hasn’t managed to take over the victim, as he died shortly after.

A witness called 112, reporting the fall.
