The miners working at Crucea uranium exploitation mine, Suceava County, have started general strike, whereas the office employees are on Japanese strike. Their main discontent is the failure to pay wages, and say they would travel to Bucharest to protest in front of Energy Ministry, stiri.tvr.ro reports.

Some 345 employees say they have not collected wages in the past two months and received no meal vouchers in the past year. Moreover, they claim no antidote meals were granted during the past 18 months.

The outstanding wages for employees amount to RON 5 million, but the Crucea mine also has debts to suppliers amounting to RON 3.5 million.
