The National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) has received and resolved last year more than 2,000 complaints from users of communications, by 19 percent more than in 2014.

Almost half of the complaints target issues related to mobile services, up by 5 percent compared to the previous year, the institution announced in a press release.

Thus, of all categories of communications services (telephony, internet and audiovisual program retransmission), the numerous complaints received by ANCOM in 2015 are related to mobile services – 44 percent of all reported issues, followed by fixed Internet access services – 11 percent and audiovisual programme retransmission services (9 percent).

ANCOM data show that most of the complaints made by users were related to communications services provided by RCS & RDS – 15 percent, Telekom Romania Mobile Communications (former Cosmote) – 12 percent, Vodafone Romania – 11 percent, Orange Romania – 10 percent, and Telekom Romania Communications (former Romtelecom) – 10 percent.

The complaints targeted implementation, extension and termination of contracts or non-inclusion of certain minimum mandatory clauses in contracts, as well as the fact that the suppliers did not answer to users’ complaints or to requests for contract cancellation.
