National Meteorology Administration issues 50 weather alerts for one day

The National Meteorology Administration has issued 50 alerts for bad weather in the past 24 hours, with several counties in western and central country targeted.

Rescue teams have intervened to counter rainfall and floods effects in 21 localities from nine counties, to get the water out of over 100 basements and courtyards. Floods have also temporarily stopped traffic on a county road.

Following heavy rains, rescue teams have intervened to supported local authorities and population in 21 localities in nine counties (Arad, Buzau, Brasov, Bacau, Bihor, Mures, Neamt, Timis and Vrancea),” informed the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.

A special situation has been reported in Bacau, where the Barnat creek has flooded due to torrential rains in a short period of time and cant works of the dam were in progress.

Major interventions have been in Timis county, in Făget, Bichigi, Begheiu Mic, Traian Vuia localities, where 100 courtyards have been flooded. Traffic on Nationla Road 68A in Faget has been temporarily blocked.
