New disclosures related to Tel Drum. PSD chair, evasive in denying allegations
Tel Drum, the company allegedly controlled by Social Democrat Party chairman Liviu Dragnea, which is charged with EU funds embezzlement, is again amid some suspect transactions, Rise Project reported, after information that Dragnea’s son, Stefan Valentin Dragnea, would be taking over the company’s patrimony, with procedures starting before Tel Drum asked for insolvency.
Rise Project journalists write that Dragnea’s son (through another company) has bought four properties from Tel Drum, overall 3.9 hectares at the entrance in Turnu Magurele town, Teleorman city, including the former protocol villa of the Communist Party, comprising a pool and other installments.
Liviu Dragnea was asked to comment the information on Friday, but he has answered rather evasively and with a certain irritation. Questioned of he knows about these acquisitions, PSD chairman said: “I don’t know”.
Further asked if his son hasn’t told him anything about the purchase, Dragnea continued: “No, why should he tell me? What, is DNA ready to buzz in my family, too?”
One journalist said: “Maybe, he asks for your advice about businesses”, with Dragnea retorting: “No, he doesn’t ask for my advice, especially that, as far as I know, he is neither director or administrator, or any other executive position, but it doesn’t matter. I understand that a company bought something from another company, not my son”.
Dragnea reiterated he has no connections with Tel Drum. “What is not clear here? Is DNA so desperate that it makes you ask these questions? Does it need further information? It might call me (for hearings),” the PSD chairman added.
Officially, the buyer is indeed another company, but Dragnea’s son is holding 70% of its shares, and the partners of this company are very close to Liviu Dragnea. Rise Project says that the money in this transaction goes through two other firms, Gransiloz and Zooveg 2010, both controlled by Stefan Valentin Dragnea. In the end, the journalists claim the money arrive directly on the card of Dragnea’s son, presenting one of his bank statements that confirmed the cashing.
