One woman has died and other four were injured, among them two children, in a traffic accident on Monday afternoon, on National Road 65, at Padurea Saru. The authorities have initiated the Red Plan for intervention, Alin Basasteanu, spokesman of the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) said.
One lorry and two cars were involved in the accident.
DN 65 will be blocked for forensic research.
Two children aged 5 and 6 are severely injured, as well as two men.
In order to remove the victims from the cars, they needed the intervention of the emergency crews.
“Two SMURD crews are at the site, plus a crew with a vehicle for transporting multiple casualties, a special truck with extinguishing accessories and five crews of the Olt County Ambulance Service,” the ISU representative said.
The injured persons are transported by ambulances to the Slatina Emergency Hospital (SJU).
A SMURD helicopter has reached the site of the accident to take over some of the victims.
The first information shows that the accident occurred after one of the truck tires exploded.
