A 78-year-old woman from Bucharest has died because of flu, with the death toll rising to 17 since the start of the cold season. According to the National Public Health Institute, the woman had been confirmed with the A-type influenza virus, and she also had preexisting medical problems. She was not known as being vaccinated.
It is the 17th death due to influenza in the 2017-2018 season.
The Health Ministry’s spokesperson said the woman had died at “Marius Nasta” Pneumology Institute.
Two hospitals from Bucharest, “Victor Babes” Hospital and “Matei Bals” Hospital for Infectious Diseases are in quarantine due to the growing flu cases.
