One of the Ceasescu’s villas, for sale
One of the protocol villas of former communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu has been put up for sale. The villa, located in Predeal mountain resort on a 1,300-sqm land, has eight rooms and is built in the local traditional architecture. It is in the Cioplea area and has a view to Postavarul Massif.
The house, one of the first recreational constructions in resort, was built in 1927. The starting price is EUR 300,000.
The villa was used by Ceausescu during 1950-1958 when he was deputy minister of Defence. After 1965, when he became first secretary of the Communist Party, Ceausescu built another house in Predeal for his use.
The School Committee of Ploiesti bought the house in 1937 from its first owner. After communists came to power, the villa was nationalized and managed by the Armed Forces Ministry.
The current owner found the place almost a ruin in 2003. Now, the villa is undergoing revamping works to be sold.
