One of the women injured in the fire in Chisinau has died at the Hospital for Burns
One of the three women injured in the fire in Chisinau who were brought to the Hospital for Burns in Bucharest, who was in the worst condition, with burns on 42 percent of her body, has died Wednesday night, said hospital spokesman Adrian Stanculea.
The woman was 26 years old and was in the worst condition. She had burns on 42 percent of the body, respiratory tract burns and was intubated and mechanically ventilated.
20 people were injured on January 9 during an explosion occurred in a restaurant downtown Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. Three of them were flown the next day to Bucharest by a Spartan aircraft. The three patients had serious burns and severe intoxication.
The blaze occurred at “La Soacra” restaurant in a two-floor building on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard near the Central Market in Chișinău after a gas cylinder blew up in one of the rooms. The restaurant’s owners have been taken into custody for 72 hours, being investigated as suspects.
“Nine ambulances rushed to the scene. 20 persons were injured, children included. Most of them suffered burns,” Petru Craveț, the spokesperson of the Emergency Medicine Institute told Unimedia.info at the time.
