Orange Code warning for heat in 12 counties on Sunday, dog days linger
Twelve counties in southeastern Romania are under orange code warning for extreme heat, with temperatures to mount to 38-39 Celsius degrees. Another 11 counties in their proximity are under yellow code warning, with temperatures reaching 35-37 Celsius degrees.
Thus, the heat wave will heat on Sunday counties like Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov, including Bucharest, Ialomi?a, C?l?ra?i, Br?ila, Gala?i, Vaslui, and on the plane regions of Bacau, Vrancea and Buzau.
The weather will be also torrid in Muntenia, Olteania, most part of Moldovia and Dobrogea (Mehedin?i, Dolj, Gorj, Vâlcea, Arge?, Dâmbovi?a, Prahova, Constan?a, Tulcea, Neam? and Ia?i). The temperatures will mount to 35-37 Celsius degrees and the temperature-moisture index will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.
In western northern and central regions the weather will be unstable and temperatures will decrease. The heat wave will stay in southern and eastern regions for the upcoming days.
Forecasters also issued a yellow code warning for heat in 19 counties in southern and southeastern country on Monday, with Bucharest included, while rains will persist in eastern and center Romania and in the mountains.
