Policemen and gendarmes, coordinated by the drug squads – DIICOT have found and seized over 130 kilos of drugs on the beaches of the Romanian seaside in the past two days, the Romanian Police announced.
More precisely, 131 kilos of drugs have been found and seized. The parcels of drugs, cocaine, had been brought from the Black Sea offshore and were tracked down on the beach near Agigea, in the neighbourhood of the town’s fisheries. Policemen have shut down the areas.
Searches are continuing on Sunday as well.
Investigators say it is the same cocaine transport found in the Black Sea and in the Danube Delta in the past two weeks. The drugs had 90 per cent purity.
200 kilograms of cocaine were found floating in the sea few days ago last week. Border policemen found the drugs in the neighbourhood of the offshore drilling in Constanta.
Those 200 kilos of cocaine would be worth EUR 100 million.
Border police officer believe this bust is part of the drug transport seized in the Danube Delta on March 23.
Over 800 kg of cocaine were found abandoned in a boat in a wild area, near Sfantu Gheorghe, Tulcea, on the Black Sea shore. The drugs were in an overturned boat and om shore packed in several packages wrapped in rubber.
DIICOT prosecutor said back then the record cocaine bust was transiting Romania and would worth EUR 300 M.
