The act of justice is incomplete as long as we have not recovered the illicit goods, Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos said on Thursday at the 6th high-level conference of the National Asset Recovery Offices from crimes.
“The act of justice is incomplete as long as we have not recovered the illicit goods,” the Premier said, adding that “in order to be complete, important is not only the sentence, but also the recovery of assets illegally obtained, otherwise we risk weakening the act of justice.”
The Prime Minister reminded that Minister of Justice Raluca Pruna has committed early in her term to make this agency operational and said that this has been largely achieved, hotnews.ro informs.
Ciolos said that according to estimates, the total amount of damages peak to EUR 500 million which have to be returned to the state budget, adding these resources should have a ‘clear target’ and ‘go towards education, health and social projects’.
