President Iohannis underwent surgery on his left shoulder
President Klaus Iohannis has undergone a surgery on his left shoulder on Thursday. The surgery took place at the Military Hospital in Bucharest, with the Presidency informing the head of state’s condition is very good.
“Romania’s President, Klaus Iohannis has been admitted to the <Dr. Carol Davila> Military Hospital on Thursday, October 25 for a surgical operation on his left shoulder. The intervention took place according to the medical protocol, with very good results. Romania’s President is medically fit to carry out the duties of the office, as his health condition is optimal”, reads the Presidential Administration’s release.
The head of state has attended the ceremony on the Army’s Day in Bucharest on Thursday, next to PM Viorica Dancila and Defence minister Mihai Fifor.
This is not President Iohannis’ first surgical intervention. He underwent another surgery on his right shoulder at the same “Carol Davila” Military Hospital on April 26, 2016. The hospital’s representatives announced back then that President Iohannis’ surgical procedure had been successful and his condition was very good.
