Princess Elena, daughter of King Mihai I and the mother of Nicolae Medford-Mills, has sent a public statement on Thursday, saying she is disappointed by her son and concerned about his deeds, saying that by trying to force the entry to see the king, he disregarded the intimacy and dignity of her father. She also claims Nicolae has shows contempt towards Romania.

The release reads that “I have informed Nicolae, in the past that the King does not want to see him, because of his behaviour without moral principles. The King himself, finding out about the marriage announced by my son, addressed Nicolae a private letter on August 4, 2017, reading that he is deeply saddened that he did nothing to sort out the paternity of his alleged child, a two-year old girl. This reveals an unacceptable lack of responsibility,” the statement reads.

The Princess also writes that, during her recent visit to Aubonne, in August. “My father confirmed to me, personally, about his decision not to meet Nicolae, an issue known by my son. King Mihai has informed, in writing, several times, the reason to withdraw the royal titles, because my son does not possess the qualities to have a position within the Royal House of Romania. Nicolae’s deeds in those days, are deeply wrong, from the moral and human point of view. For me, as mother, this is a devastating issue,” Princess Elena wrote.

In turn, Nicolae Medforth-Mills claims, in a post on Facebook, he does not believe that his grandfather was the one who decided not to see him.

“I, Nicolae, I wanted only to see my grandfather and say goodbye, in a peaceful way, respectfully, as a Christian. I wasn’t allowed now, or on other occasions when I wanted to see him. We weren’t separated during the exile as grandfather and nephew, and we have cherished this blood connection. Knowing him so well, I do not believe he was the one who decided not to see each other. On the contrary, I believe he would have wanted it badly,” Nicolae wrote.

Later on, during a show on Antena 3, Nicolae Medforth-Mills claimed it has been the seventh time he has tried to see King Michael, adding that he has been turned down every time. The King’s grandson says he would like to receive the explanation why he cannot see his grandfather and why he has been removed from the line of succession.

“It has been the seventh time in the past two years when I tried. I tried with letters, on the phone and face to face, I stayed for four hours in front of the house at some point. The answer has been negative all the time. I feel I lost something from my soul. I have something empty inside. I have cried a lot (…) I tried to see him again the next day (on Wednesday). Nothing (…) I came back to Romania in November and I wrote an e-mail to my aunt (…) There was no kind of communication,” Nicolae stated.

The Royal Family accused former Prince Nicolae on Wednesday of trying to break into the house in Versoix, Switzerland, and that he has assaulted several people. The Royal Family has filed a criminal complaint against Nicolae.

On the other hand, Nicolae said he only wanted to see the King, to wish him good health on his name day.
