The National Administration of Penitentiaries (ANP) has started a disciplinary investigation on Tuesday, following the marriage between the prison guard educator and inmate Bogdan Dumitrache aka ‘Crocodilu’ (the Crocodile).

ANP informs that the investigation is conducted according to the deontological code for penitentiary employees, reports.

ANP says the code reads that relations between penitentiary employees and inmates are banned.

The marriage of the Rahova Penitentiary employee and ‘Crocodilu’ took place at Jilava Penitentiary, where the convict has been relocated in the meantime.

Jilava Penitentiary spokesman Cristian Micu says there nothing unusual. “Any convict has the right to get married. An application is filed and, after being analysed, the inmate can get married in jail or in the locality where the penitentiary is located. This marriage took place in the penitentiary, but the woman is not employed at Jilava, but at Rahova Penitentiary,” Micu said.

Bogdan Dumitrache was sentenced in June 2018 to 7 years and 6 months in jail for setting up an organized criminal group.
