About ten people have protested Wednesday morning, along with PSD deputy Liviu Plesoianu, in front of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) offices, bearing placards with messages against chief prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi, against her refusal to be heard by the inquiry committee regarding the 2009 presidential elections.

“I want to ask Mrs. Kovesi if she was at Oprea’s house on the night of the elections. Her divinity, Mrs. Kovesi, is here barricaded in her anti-corruption temple and refuses to come to the investigation committee, legally established, although there’s a Constitutional Court decision that tells her she is bound to. She believes she is not forced to come and is hidden here. So I’ve decided to come here, as member of the parliamentary investigation committee to ask her this question. I understand she want to test the prosecutors with the lie detector. I suggest she should do this test as well. She is forced to answer, otherwise she shouldn’t be here. She should be urgently revoked,” Liviu Plesoianu said.

The MP said he would try again on Thursday to resume the proposal filed to his colleagues on June 20, to notify the investigation on George Maior, Florian Coldea and Laura Codruta Kovesi institutions in regard to obstructing the parliamentary activity.

The parliamentary investigation committee regarding the 2009 election invited Kovesi twice, but the DNA chief prosecutor refuses to attend the hearings. Concomitantly with establishing the committee, the Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal file, which was closed down after several months of investigations.
