A plane operated by Qatar Airways has had an emergency landing on the Henri Coanda (Otopeni) International Airport on Thursday. The aircraft staff, which was heading to Manchester, decided to make a forced landing after a passenger had felt sick.
“A Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft operated by Qatar Airways, which came from QTR 3GC Doha to Manchester, has required the emergency landing at 10:30 on the Henri Coanda International Airport Bucharest due to medical reasons- a 54-year-old passenger felt sick,” the airport’s officials reported.
A team of doctors from the Bucharest airport went on board and managed to stabilize the passenger, who was transported to one of the emergency hospitals in Bucharest, while the aircraft continued its flight.
The air traffic on Henri Coanda airport has not been affected by this incident.
