After the Code Red for snow and blizzard, Constanta, Tulcea, and Galati counties are under a yellow weather warning until 10 AM. The National Road Company announces that, on Monday morning, 21 sections of national roads are closed. No traffic is allowed on any road in Tulcea County, as announced by the Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate.

The roads in Tulcea County will remain closed to traffic until snow removal equipment makes them passable, announced the Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate on Monday morning, mentioning that there are cars stranded in snow in the county, and 53 localities are without electricity. The decision to close county roads to public traffic was made by the County Emergency Situations Committee and will be lifted when the snow removal equipment manages to unblock them. Around 7:00 AM, seven cars were stranded in the county, and 11 people requested assistance from firefighters.

“Of the seven blocked cars, three are in the Luncavița – Văcăreni area and one in the Babadag area. In these cars, nine people are stranded. In the Iazurile locality area, intervention is underway to unblock three cars with two people inside, and there is no information about people stranded in the third car,” said the Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate in Tulcea. Until Monday morning, local authorities and firefighters rescued 88 people from cars stranded in snowdrifts. The snow layer reaches up to two meters in some areas, according to the Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate.

Schools are closed today in Constanta, Tulcea, and Galati counties, Braila, and Calarasi. Authorities made this decision due to roads still being covered with up to two meters of snowdrifts and numerous power outages affecting over 300,000 consumers.
