New research reveals Romania has the 7th largest family size in the world. The study by Confused.com analysed OECD data to reveal the countries with the largest family sizes.

The nation where the average family is the largest is Mexico, with just under 4 people per household. That’s around 50% higher than the OECD average of 2.46.
Following Mexico, with the second and third largest family sizes are Turkey and Costa Rica. Turkey has an average family size of 3.50, closely followed by Costa Rica with an average family size of 3.46.

On the other side, the country with the smallest families is Sweden, with an average family size of 1.80.
