Reserved prognosis for Irish ambassador admitted to Bucharest hospital
Ireland’s ambassador in Bucharest, Gerard Corr, is still admitted at the intensive care unit at Floreasca hospital, in a stable condition under treatment. Yet, medical sources told Mediafax the prognosis is reserved.
Gerard Corr has been taken to the Floreasca emergency hospital on Monday after he collapsed in the street. The ambassador fell down in the street after leaving a restaurant nearby and suffered an injury at his head.
Gerard Corr has been ambassador in Romania and Republic of Moldova since November 2013.
Previously he has been permanent representative of Ireland to UN in Geneva. He has been Ireland’s ambassador to Egypt during 2006-2010, also being accredited for Sudan, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. During 2003-2006 he served as ambassador to South Africa, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
