Planning to go out and have a drink, but you are concerned about the drive back home? A restaurant in Timis county, western Romania seems to have cut the Gordian knot on that.
A restaurant in Remetea Mare, about ten km away from the city of Timisoara, is providing customers who want to drink alcohol for dinner with round trip transportation, free of charge. The campaign, which kicked off in March, aims at discouraging people from drink-driving. The campaign will go on in the upcoming months as well.
For now, only the local customers of the restaurant will benefit of the free round trip transport for dinner, but the campaign is to expand in the future.
“If you want to have a delicious dinner accompanied by a bottle of wine, we’ll send over a driver who will bring you to the restaurant and drive you back home, you and of course the people accompanying you. All you have to do is book a table, mention the time and the address in Remetea Mare where we should pick up (…) The driver will probably not look like the one in the photo, but you will enjoy the fact you can drink alcohol without driving,” the Jack restaurant posted on Facebook.
The restaurant owner says the locals are thrilled with the idea of a free ride. He revealed he will be driver and another two employees.
The free transport for dinner is available from 16:00hrs to 22:30hrs every day.
