Romania ranks second in the list of countries with complaints to ECHR

Romania ranks second by the number of complaints filed with the European Court for Human Rights (ECHR). Most of them are filed by prisoners complaining of detention conditions.

In the first ten months of last year, 10,100 complaints were filed against Romania at the ECHR, informs.

ECHR figures show that Romanians are not filing complaints against the state when their rights, such as medical treatment or education, are violated.

Romania has been sentenced ten times for violating the right to life and not even once for violating the right to education.
