The air traffic controllers threaten with a two-hour strike on Friday, May 12, in protest for no collective labour agreement has been signed yet. They are also discontent with the lack of a budget and with the fact that the ROMATSA still has an interim leadership. The trade union leader of ROMATSA, Gabriel Tudorache hasn’t mention any possible salary claim, yet it is not excluded.
If on, the air traffic controllers’ strike will mess up the entire air traffic on Friday.
The last time the Romanian air traffic controllers had been on strike was in September 2015. They asked back then to be able to retire at 55 and that they could be relocated to another position inside ROMATSA after the age of 55, according to their professional experience, namely to a operational or security department.
