Romanian Foreign Ministry Warns: Nationwide Strikes in Italy’s Transport Sector
In Italy, from Friday to Monday, nationwide strikes will take place in the field of transport, affecting both air and rail, as well as the local public transport sector, according to a travel warning issued by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs Romanian citizens who are in, transiting or intending to travel to the Italian Republic that between 7 and 9 September 2024, strikes will be organized at national level, in the airport/air, public rail and public transport sectors locally as follows:
On Saturday, September 7, 2024, between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, there will be a strike by airport staff and crew members from several public and private airlines, affecting the schedules of Fiumicino Airport in Rome and Olbia Airport in Sardinia.
From September 8 to 9, 2024, a 24-hour strike will take place in public rail transport.
On Monday, September 9, 2024, a strike in local public transport will occur, lasting between 4 and 8 hours.
