Romanian invents Wallor, the smart theft-proof wallet

A Romanian invented a smart theft-proof wallet after he managed to raise USD 22,000 on Kickstarter for the invention, start-up.ro informs.

Romanian Viorel Cretu made a wallet that has a monitoring device against thieves. More precisely, the Wallor wallet has two components– Wallor Cash Holder and Wallor Card Holder, providing safety both for money and for bank cards.

With the help of RFID technology, Wallor is practically surrounded by a virtual cage protecting the cards against hackers who can extract data from them or against mobile scanners. At the same time, the wallet’s owners can be warned with the help of GPS sensors when the wallet is moved from their bag or pocket, in case it has been stolen or has fallen down.

Besides, Wallor will also create a system that will help people see where their wallets are in every corner of the world, in real time.

The inventor Viorel Cretu says that mass productions will kick off in mid-February, with a new crowfunding campaign on Kickstarter to find more money, while delivering the initial products is expected in April. So far 87 people have donated USD 22,000 to finance the project.

Wallor will be made in China, in three different factories.

The inventor hopes it will have 40,000 clients by the end of 2017.

Viorel Cretu is a long-distance entrepreneur. He set up his first business in Brasov in 2003, an advertising agency, when he invented a vocal commercial. The he set up WebEffects in 2007, a web development company, reaching to a network of 240 international programmers. The company has offices in several countries: Spain, Russia, Singapore or USA.

Viorel Cretu says he came up with the smart wallet idea last year when his wallet has been stolen while in Spain as a resident.
