Romanian pensioner takes EUR 4.45 M lottery prize

The winner of the largest prize in the history of Joker lottery game, worth RON 20.57 million (EUR 4.45 M) has come at the Romanian Lottery HQ on Monday to take the money. The owner of the lucky ticket, for which he paid only RON 7.3, is a pensioner from Alexandria, Teleorman county, has over 60 years old and is constantly buying lottery tickets, ever since he was young.

Even if he is buying tickets for Loto 6/49 and loto 5/40, he confessed that Joker has been his favorite game since 2000 when the game was launched.

The man, who wanted his identity to remain unknown, stated he had won before a lottery prize several years ago and that’s why he considered himself a lucky person.

He recounted he had learnt he is the big winner right on that night the results had been announced and he had checked his ticket’s numbers. As he confessed, he will help his children with the money, but „he will also do his job as Christian’, meaning he will give some money for charity.
