Romanians are bad debtors on bank installments and utilities, study says
More than one third of Romanians (34%) are bad debtors on bank loans, while another 35 percent pay their utilities bills with delay, according to a study by Kruk, the Polish debt collection company, released on Tuesday.
The percentage of Germans (33%) paying the bank installments with delay are almost equal to the one of the Romanians.
In terms of mortgage loans, Romanians (10%) have better credentials than the Spaniards (29%) and Germans (17%).
However, Romanians also face problems in paying their gas and electricity bills, with 35% of the respondents declaring they are usually behind schedule on that.
Italians also pay their utilities bills with delay (38%), while Czech people (8%) and Germans (14%) have less debts.
The survey yet reveals that Romanians are paying their rent in due time.
“When it comes to paying rents, Poles register the highest percentage of debt: 29%, while only 6% of Romanians have delays,” reads the company’s release.
Poles (27%) and Romanians (22%) are also champions on delays in paying the mobile phone bills, while only 8% of Germans do that.
The survey was conducted in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Romania, Germany, Italy and Spain during October 19-26, 2016.
