The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that 16 Romanians are currently blocked in Gaziantep, near the Turkey’s border to Syria, following cancellation of several flights due to the bad weather that also seized Turkey.
“According to our information give by a Romanian citizen who addressed the Romanian diplomatic mission, 16 conational citizens are currently blocked in Gaziantep,” MAE said.
Digi 24 reported earlier in the day that at least 1,000 Romanian tourists have been blocked in several Turkish cities for days. They had flight connection through Istanbul airport but the snowstorms paralyzed the city and all air flights have been cancelled.
Heavy snowfalls have cancelled over 300 domestic flights in Turkey today.
