Romanians can travel to Japan for up to 90 days without visa

Romanian citizens can travel to Japan without a visa if their visit is shorter than 90 days, the Embassy of Japan informs, according to digi24.ro. The measure was extended and is valid until the end of 2018; as of January 1, 2016 the holders of temporary passports are included.
“The Japanese Embassy in Romania wishes to inform that the Government of Japan, in order to facilitate travels and the cultural and commercial relations between Japan and Romania, decided to extend until December 31, 2018 (included) the implementation of the following measures on visa regime for Romanian citizens wishing to enter the territory of Japan, adopted on September 1, 2009 and valid until December 31, 2015,” the press release from the Embassy of Japan reads.
Romanian citizens holding valid passports, issued by the Romanian authorities, wishing to enter the territory of Japan for intervals not exceeding 90 consecutive days, can enter the Japanese territory without a visa.
This provision if not valid for Romanian citizens wishing to enter the Japanese territory in order to find a job or to carry on activities or a certain profession (including in the fields of art or sports, against remuneration).
The Embassy of Japan underscores that Romanians entering Japanese territory have to observe the laws and regulations in Japan.
Holders of temporary passports are to be included in the programme, as of January 1, 2016.
