RON 71 M recovered this year in big corruption cases
The tax revenue authority informed that it had recovered RON 70.9 M from the prejudices in big corruption cases starting early this year. However, more is laying ahead it: over RON 1.5 billion.
Most of the money have been recovered in the football transfers case: almost RON 32 M. More than 16% of this sum came from Victor Becali, while the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) didn’t manage to recover anything from his brother Ioan Becali.
The state recovered almost RON 29 M this year from tycoon Dan Voiculescu in the file of the Food Research Institute’s privatization case. Yet, ten times more than that is needed to liquidate the entire prejudice.
ANAF recovered only RON 3.7 M this year from Marian Iancu in one of the RAFO refinery file, but the state has to recover another RON 886 M. The money eventually got in the state’s treasury by selling eight of those 35 apartments seized from the businessman.
The state has to recover money also from the Rafo-Carom file, from defendants Marian Iancu, Ovidiu Tender and other convicted people. The court ordered the seizure of RON 322 M in this case, with only RON 7.2 M being recovered so far.
