19 injured after minibus-truck collision

19 persons have been injured in a minibus accident in Baicoi on Tuesday night. Five are seriously injured, with two of them allegedly having their legs amputated, according to the chief of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in Prahova, colonel Nicolae Popescu.

Later on, the spokesperson of Ploiesti County Hospital said that at present only nine of the 19 injured patients are still admitted in the hospital, most of them having head, trunk and arm injuries.

Among the injured, there is also a 39-year-old woman who had her left arm amputated, although initially information pointed to two patients suffering leg amputations. Doctors mentioned that the arm amputation was finally decided only on the 36yo woman.

According to the preliminary information, the minibus having a capacity of 26 seats run across into a truck that was getting out from a secondary street in Baicoi town.
